There are a number of excellent restaurants in the area as well as what Jay has to offer.
The Belfry (this has long been our favorite restaurant-busy and a true skiers pub). In recent years a reservation has become more necessary.
Jay Village Inn (fireplace is usually roaring, the drinks are POWERFUL, and food is excellent)
The Snowshoe ( A real local bar with food, pool tables and other games, and the strongest gin and tonics I have ever enjoyed. They often have a live band on weekends as well, although the quality of the music can vary from excellent (the last time we went), to loud and awful. In recent years the Snowshoe has really improved and is quite enjoyable).
Kingdom Brewery (Brian and Jenn literally built the brewery with their own hands, brew all their own beers, and make pretty good pizzas. If you can get there when they are featuring one of their maple sap based beers it is really a treat-and something like 9% alcohol so be careful!)
Parker Pie (OK, we have eaten pizzas many places in Italy, Spain, France, Germany, the US; and this is at the top of my list. Try the Green Mountain Special-yum. They also they feature draft beers from the legendary Hill Farmstead.
Jay Peak is about a twelve minute drive from the Canadian border, with several quite lovely towns in Eastern Townships that are a joy to visit. Sutton, Magog, Lac Brome are all less than an hour from the condo and feature some great restaurants and shopping.
